There are signs of...rob -- The earth is dead here. There are signs of life in the buds on flowering shrub limbs, half broken through spring bulbs. All stirrings of the promise that spring will come soon. The temps actually got up to 60 today -- that will get it going. But a cold front is moving through with rain or snow tonight and tomorrow. Perhaps this is all appropriate weather to help one reflect on the upcoming Holy Week.

By the way, we're in Zone 5. I lived in DC for five years (zone 7 ?) and before that 7 & 8 in Texas. Our soils in Indy are alkaline, which means no real azaleas or rhododendrens (although the nurseries sell them). I miss the spring of the mid-Atlantic region, truly a beautiful, gaudy and powerful expression of flowering beauty.Donhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08348048990003701953noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5956447.post-1111174234475727632005-03-18T14:30:00.000-05:002005-03-18T14:30:00.000-05:00Sounds like can-u-dig it? lives in a little warme...Sounds like can-u-dig it? lives in a little warmer climes than we do (judging from your posts, it sounds like our climates are relatively similar.)

I'd say I'm jealous of the buds and blooms she describes, but the weather link on my computer tells me its 51 degrees here today. Maybe I'll get a chance to get out and actually do some gardening?

Hope you (and Franklin) get a chance to do the same!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
