I am a political person. I like politics.

By life experience and interest, I am a hack. I've worked in campaigns. I've worked for a politician. One should do this as a young person, because there are other things in life besides politics. Younger folk have heated passions that often help them, along with better metabolism, to endure stress and lack of sleep.

By the way, I consider public service to be a high calling, a moral trust, if you will. People who have no respect for the public, or care for the general good, shouldn't be in politics. And certainly should not work in government. We should expect that attitude from folk that we elect to public office.
