gray day

The weather has warmed considerably, but the blue skies are gone, and it has been raining lightly off and on. I am hoping to get bulbs into the ground this week. Given the temps, the ground is now very soft and pliable.

Last night, Lessons and Carols went quite well. The women reprised four of the songs from Britten's Ceremony of Carols, and the harpist returned to accompany them and the rest of the choir on a couple of Stephen Paulus anthems. The church looks so hauntingly serene in the candlelight. Three children ended up singing the first verse of Once in Royal David's City.
