moving

Last night, we helped a dear friend pack up. She and her family are moving out-of-state.

Having done this a few times now, I cannot say I am a total novice.

Moving is still hell, but it is also a task, and it's not as daunting as I thought it was the first time I did it.

But enough memories hit me as we were packing dishes that it made me think about what will be my only resolution for the New Year: Spend 10 hours a month this year going through different parts of the house, organizing, tossing or giving away what is not all that important. I don't know when we'll move again, but it would be nice if our home was a little better organized.
