outer space radio

I once worked at a radio station outside of Waco (just down the road from where the Branch Davidianites had their compound), a 10,000 watt AM. It was originally a daytimer, but at night it switched over to a very weak and highly directional signal. The drive out to the studio, located at the transmitter site, seemed to take forever. Being out in the country, I often heard coyotes howling, and cows mooing, usually not at the same time.

That world is changing. According to the Washington Post (via Yahoo), satellite radio is taking off in the United States.
