night

Cold, cloudy day today, the sort that makes one want to stay at home and nap.

But that was not a choice. Despite being a four day work week, it feels like this week has gone on and on. Outside, up in the sky, a large airliner lingers slowly across the city heading towards the airport. It is lit up, moving inch by inch across the heavens. Inside passengers are sitting, waiting to be back on the ground,

An ice storm is predicted over the weekend, or snow. We've had 5 and 1/2 inches this winter, someone told me today, but it must have come in a quarter of an inch at a time. Floating disks of ice are forming on the White River. The numerous ponds and lakes throughout the city are frozen.

The house is silent, no tv on. Off to read a book in all this quiet.
