I repeat myself, but it is very galling that the President refuses to defend or explain his support to amend the U.S. Constitution so that gay families are denied legal protections.

Other have written about it, but I add my voice: why should American law ignore gay famlies, or prohibit equal protection for gay families?

I am not enamored by Kerry's responses, but he at least supports some legal protection. In President Bush's universe we either do not exist or our citizenship is devalued.
