another winner

Each season certain plants do better than normal, perhaps because of weather or moisture in the seasons leading up to the blooming period.

This has been a very good year for Russian Sage (perovskia atriplicifolia), a shrubby plant that is neither a saliva or from Russia -- I read once that it was actually from Nepal.

It's ghostly silver limbs and purple stalks have been brilliant all over the city this year.
