full summer

There is so much movement in spring that it is hard to slow down and simply enjoy the day, or at least the moment.

Summer has an amazing ability to slow the pace and give one days or nights of sitting in screened porches, eating and talking and listening to the sounds of the night, staring out into the dark night punctuated by fireflies and moonlight.

A few heavy rains helps me get back into weeding, and I realize that I must put off moving plants or building new beds until fall.
