hollyhocks

My hollyhocks were rather stingy this year -- rarely did a stalk have more than two or three blooms at one time.

That was in summer and early fall.

Now they are going full ablaze with lots of blooms. Of course, time is running out, but that doesn't seem to stop them.

Neighbors pulled out the pole beans this weekend. There are still a few tomato plants -- we're still encouraging a little more fruit.

The hostas are almost all gone now. Meanwhile, the mix between leaves on the ground and leaves up on the trees is fairly equal, making everything outside glow in yellow reflections. I'm almost ready to start putting out bulbs.
