Colder temps returned and snow, a little here and a little there, and wind, something that makes everything a bit more miserable -- at least it will move the smog out.
At the foot of my big sweetgum, there is a clump of yellow crocuses, with buds on them. This must be the earliest that they've come up since we have lived in the townlet.
I am not sure who planted them, but there is something reassuring about clumps like these, coming up, the gift from another person at another time.
