I think it rained everyday last week. But most of those rains were gentle and neither too short or too long. And then Saturday morning arrived, and the heat and moisture was thick, and finally heavy rains fell. A neighbor's rain gauge showed more than 2 inches during the afternoon.

So some folk's basements flooded. A few roadways flooded.

There is talk of a thunderstorm tonight. Meanwhile, a colleague who went to Chicago over the weekend says that they are suffering from a multi-month draught.
