I ended up flying to Austin on Saturday. Sunday, I visited with old friends, and on Monday, I attended the burial and the memorial service for Governor Richards.
The night before the burial, the skies were loud with thunder and lightening, and in the morning there was gentle drizzle, appropriate for the bittersweet day of saying goodbye.
I got back yesterday to a definitely colder Indianapolis. It was 43 degrees (F) outside this morning.
