and then...

Yesterday marked the third anniversary of this blog. I hesitate to write that because I write so little these days. Part of it is life events around me -- part of it is my current state of mind -- part of it is tiredness -- I find that I may have written all I need to write in this format and I am repeating myself a lot.

How silly it seems to act as if writing this blog is anything more than for my amusement -- or practice -- at putting sentences together, at sharing a written picture of the world from my corner. But I do benefit from meeting and writing with other people that I would have never talked with or written to if I had not started blogging. I enjoy the people who post here or who write me emails as a result of the blog.

At least through blogging, many of us are communicating in ways that folk did in other centuries through the mail. Relationships sustained by letterwriting is no longer possible. I don't know anybody who wants to have a letterwriting relationship. And my organizational skills are such that I don't carry through on trying to find or build such a relationship.

So I mark this as an anniversary of a simple pleasure. Thanks to all have read or commented here.

Who knows why we write in our blogs? Like you, I enjoy the fact that I "meet" folks who would otherwise never cross my path. Happy blogiversary!

I love your blog, whether you post once a day or once a month. Please don't fret about repeating yourself - what you write is always so thoughtful and so well done that it's a pleasure. I'm honored that thanks to your blog I ended up meeting you and Partner, let alone learning all about plants, gardens, dog care, etc etc etc. Many happy returns of the day.

Thank you all for your kind words and tolerance of my over sensitivity to weather.
