Our high temperature today is 66 degrees (F). My garden, clinging as it has these past years in its hard Indiana clay, must have thought that we skipped two months.
My surprise hollyhocks continue to bloom, some with single plain rose blooms, and others with frilly pink blooms.
My best intentions are to start posting pictures of it, with examples of the good and the bad.
Meanwhile, family from Texas start making their way up here for the weekend, just in time for normally warm temperatures to return. They will not believe that we had this fall weather at the end of July.
And I, who have always thought that paradise must be summering in Maine, keep pinching myself. After a lifetime in Texas, I am still amazed that summer weather can have such lovely breaks from the heat and heavy humidity.
