Saturday night, friends came over a simple dinner. Partner made a curry cream sauce for the chicken, a spinach side dish and brown rice. We ended with fresh berries and cream. It was a great opportunity to catch up.
Sunday, I planted much of what I bought on Saturday, deciding that it was more important to get the plants in the ground than it was to finished digging out all the new bed areas first. In the areas already dug out, I worked in 20 bags of composted manure and then planted. I probably should add a little sand into my mix.
In the evening, we went to church to hear Avi Stein, our assistant organist, provide a recital of harpsichord and organ music. Avi is a doctoral student at IU in both instruments, and has been playing with our choir for the past three years, including during our trip to England. This is probably our last year with him, and I'll miss him. His recital was great, particularly an organ piece by Brunns or Bruhns (?), a Dutch composer of the 1600s.
Great weekend.
