lull

When I got up this morning it was raining, and it continued steadily until about 11:30 a.m.

Unlike the previous few days of rain, terrific afternoon storms, this one was gentle, consistent and continual.

No violence, no drama -- although both are probably happening in the aftermath.

The trees are weighted down with wet leaves, but I assume they are enjoying the extra gulp of water in summer, particularly if their feet are not standing in it.

This weekend, while weeding, I noticed how dry the soil was within inches from the top.
