opening days

I was beginning to feel sorry for myself as I looked out on my garden in the last weeks of May and the first days of this month.

Not much blooming. A little messiness of things bumping into each other.

So I started cutting back dying things and overgrown things (like the neptia or catmint) and continued pulling weeds like mad.

How satisfying to clean out weeds. I may die, but I will have prevented for a few moments their overtaking my garden.

This morning, I noticed the middle summer blooming starting to unfurl throughout the garden. Against the too much lavender/purple hues were scattered punctuations of yellow and white blooms, with lines and clumps of silver-gray.

Meanwhile, my back hurts. I've either pinched a nerve or pulled a muscle. I can stand easy enough, but sitting is painful. Just as I am ready to chop up limbs cut over the weekend, I find I cannot bend down.

I suppose this one of those moments where the body minds me of its relationship to the soul.

Prayers rising up for healing for your back. I know it's awful when you mess up your back. Thank you for the word-picture of your garden!

Peace and blessings,
RiverStone
