family

Partner's parents have generously chosen to leave their warm climes to spend Christmas with us in the chilly north.

As a child, I didn't understand why adults wanted to sit and talk and catch up on each others lives, but I appreciate this much more now. And we have survived a bit of a heating problem (finally fixed this morning), and the unintentional locking of our cats in another room. The dog has only opened one gift before Christmas -- it did not belong to him, and thankfully, he only tore the paper off. Another gift is chewed slightly on the corner.
