singing

The two choirs festival takes a huge amount of time. The adults from both choirs rehearsed on Wednesday, the choristers on Thursday, and then all of us on Saturday. Yesterday, we sang the main Eucharist service at Trinity and then sang choral evensong at St. Pauls.

I'm tired.

It was a great opportunity to make music, and Gerre Hancock is such a nice person as well as a giant in the field of Anglican music (our little subset of sacred music). He was quite gracious in encouraging us. His organ improvisations at both services were exciting.

We sang a Victorian bombastic piece by J. Stainer, I Saw The Lord, another anthem by Craig Phillips, the mass by Hancock, and Leighton's Second Service for the evensong.
