calm and storm

So far, this has been quite a mild spring leading into summer. It was hot on Race Day during Memorial Day weekend, and it was hot on Saturday. But mostly pleasant. Or wet. And cool.

On my way driving home tonight, the sky was cut into two sides. On the left, or eastern side, was the calmest of blue skies with small puffs of white clouds. On the right, or western side, were dark, low-hanging clouds, full of grays and blacks, much scarier than the computer generated images in movies like the Ring cycle.

There was no movement from one side to the other. Instead, these two states hung together, with lightning occuring on the dark side. Eventually the dark clouds moved across, and it rained hard for a few minutes.

A few flowers were beaten down.
