watering

How could I complain about having to water my garden this summer?  So far, I've only had to do that about four times for the season.  Yesterday, I started systematic watering.

So of course, a storm blew through -- and it did blow.  We're were having dinner at a little Greek restaurant in Fountain Square area and watched in surprise as the outdoor table umbrellas blew down the street.  And some areas around here got up to two inches of rain.

Which was a bit of a relief.  The entire day had been one of haze and humidity.

Lots of lightning.  Lots of rain.  Lots of wind.

This week is the first week that I have watered. Except for the vegetable garden which I have been watering a couple times a week since the rains stopped.

I forgot about the vegetable garden. We do a community garden in my backyard for 3-4 families (or more). Yes,we have watered that much more frequently, using soaker hoses.

Still, it's been a good summer for water -- so far.
