visiting our town

Good weekend.

Houseguests. Family. Cooking, chatting, looking at the town from a visitor's point of view (and ultimately ourselves). We walked the dog Saturday morning on the grounds of the Indianapolis Museum of Art -- really the best garden space in our town. There was a recital of flutists (flautists?) on the grounds, and as we poked around the many elegant paths and spaces, the music wafted through the air.

We rode the bus around the track of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway -- aka, the world's largest high school football stadium. Played minature golf. Shared a meal with friends at the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra's summer concert program. Went to church. Walked around downtown. Smoked a couple of racks of ribs. Played cards. Re-told old stories, and remembered past events, creating new old stories.

Alas, it's over.

Yay! Thanks for going to SOTP! We've been worked over by the weather this summer (rain always seems to fall only on Friday and Saturday). Every little bit helps. Hope that you enjoyed it.
