A cool wind blew through, and today was one of those ten perfect days of the year. Goodbye humidity and hello open windows tonight. No need for air conditioning.
My David Austin English roses have opened up, starting out as an ordinary rose bud, but then revealing complicated multiple petals and sweet rose scents in their pale peach, yellow and pink blossoms.
My Japanese iris opened this week, a spotted or streaked lavender.
And a little bluebonnet has sent up a bracketed flower, about an inch in height. Not the six to eight inch flower that blankets the hills of Central Texas, but it is comforting to see the small wild lupine shape and color. Almost like a visitor from the homeland.
